Partha Sarathi Mahanta has officially taken charge as the Commissioner of Police for Guwahati. In a move aimed at enhancing public access to law enforcement, a new WhatsApp helpline number, 6026900651, has been introduced for city residents.
This helpline will allow citizens to file complaints and seek assistance seamlessly. The service will be operational 24×7, ensuring round-the-clock support to the people of Guwahati.
Residents are encouraged to utilize this platform to report grievances and maintain a direct line of communication with the police.
It is worth noting that Mahanta had previously served as Joint Commissioner of Police in Guwahati, focusing on crime control and intelligence. Earlier in 2024, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP). In his new role, he is expected to enhance public safety, improve crime prevention, and strengthen community relations.
